37th Swiss Juggling Convention Resume

Report on the Swiss Juggling Convention held on the weekend of August 30 to September 1, 2024 in Winterthur.

This is the second time the Swiss Juggling Convention has been held in Winterthur.
This 37th edition took place in the "Eulachpark" park in the "Oberwinterthur" district.
The convention was very well organized by a fantastic team, which can be seen on the Organiser's Team Web page.

As is often the case, we were able to enjoy beautiful weather.
The park was very large, and we all had plenty of space to juggle. For those who wanted to find shade from the sun, there were enough trees.
There was also a room for juggling, but few people went there, given the lovely weather that allowed us to juggle on a beautiful lawn.
For sleeping, a gymnasium was available. I believe it was full.
On Sunday morning (and Saturday as well, I think), there was a nice breakfast.

There were many workshops of all kinds, often several at the same time.
On Sunday, in the early afternoon, the games took place in the park.

The organizers innovated by holding a "Juggling Battle," which took place in two parts: a "battle" on Saturday and the final on Sunday. It was fun.

On Saturday evening, the usual public show took place in a gymnasium just a few minutes' walk from the park. About 450 people came to watch. The performances were of high quality.
After this show, there was a fire performance early in the night, outdoors.

There were many press articles both before and after the convention. A webpage references these articles.
This is the first time so much publicity has been made for a Swiss convention. It worked well, considering the number of participants and spectators.

C’est la deuxième fois que la Convention Suisse de Jonglerie s’est tenue à Witerthur.

Le parc était très grand, nous avions tous largement la place pour jongler. Pour ceux qui voulaient s'abriter du Soleil, il y avait suffisemment d'arbres.
Il y avait aussi une salle pour jongler, mais peu de personnes y sont allées, vu le temps magnifique qui nous permettait de jongler sur une belle pelouse.
Pour dormir, un gymnase était à disposition. Je crois qu'il était plein.
Le dimanche matin (le samedi aussi, je crois) il y avait un bon petit déjeuner.

Il y a eu de très nombreux ateliers de tout genre, souvent plusieurs en même temps.
Le dimanche, en début d’après-midi, les jeux se sont tenus dans le parc.

Les organisateurs ont innové en organisant une "Juggling Battle" qui s'est déroulée en deux temps. Une "battle" le samedi et la finale le dimanche. C'était amusant.

Le samedi soir, l'habituel spectacle public s'est tenu dans une salle de gymnastique, à quelques minutes à pied du parc. Environ 450 personnes sont venus y assister. Les numéros étaient de grande qualité.
Après ce spectacle, un spectacle de feu a eu lieu en début de nuit, dehors.

Il y a eu de nombreux articles de presse, avant la convention et après la convention. Une page Web référencie ces articles.
C'est la première fois que autant de publicité est faite pour une convention suisse. Cela a bien fonctionné, vu le nombre de participants et le nombre de spectateurs.

De nouveau, j’ai eu la chance de retrouver de nombreux « dinosaures », organisateurs de conventions précédentes.
Pour moi, c’était magnifique de retrouver des amis de longue date.
