Swiss Juggling Convention Report

The Swiss Juggling Convention took place in Tesserete, in the canton of Ticino, from August 21 to 23, 2026—marking the third time the event has been held there.
This 39th edition was hosted at the Tesserete sports center.

The organization was excellent once again, and everything ran very smoothly.
We were fortunate to have wonderful weather throughout the convention.
Since the summer of 2026 was particularly hot, a downpour on Friday—just before the event started—was a welcome relief, cooling down both the air and the ground.

As Ticino is located at one end of Switzerland, attendance was lower than at conventions held in more central regions.
However, all participants were delighted with the gathering, which offered the opportunity to juggle both indoors and outdoors.

As usual, the convention began on Friday afternoon and concluded late Sunday afternoon. Food was available on-site.
On Saturday morning, we were served a hearty breakfast, including croissants bought by Heinz as an apology for forgetting to turn off his alarm clock; it had gone off at 7 a.m. in the civil defense shelter where several of us had slept. Others had chosen to camp.

On Sunday morning, we once again enjoyed an excellent breakfast, accompanied by more croissants.

As always, there were various workshops, plenty of juggling, and a fantastic atmosphere.

I brought a few dozen puzzles, which were set up on a table near the reception area.
They entertained many children as well as several adults.

On Saturday evening, a show took place in the gymnasium, which had been set up for the occasion.
We all had a wonderful time.
In the evening, after the show, many participants juggled outside while the stage was being dismantled and the gym cleared.
The atmosphere was lively, with plenty of light-up clubs in action.

The business meeting took place on Sunday around 11 a.m. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the next Swiss convention, in 2027, was already scheduled to be held in Winterthur.

Before the games began, a group of ten jugglers had fun performing various passing patterns.
I really enjoy the exchange of ideas and the mix of skill levels.

The games started in the afternoon in the gym before moving outdoors for "long-distance passing" and "gladiator" events.

Around 3:20 p.m., many jugglers—myself included—headed to the bus stop for the train station.
We continued to have a great time on the train.
I kept the fun going all the way to Morges, though that part was technically outside the convention itself.

A huge thank you and congratulations to the organizing team for a wonderful weekend.

Bernard Gisin.
